Short biography
Cardiologist Dimitrios Korres was born in March 1973 in Athens.
He grew up in Tinos, attending Tinos Junior High School and Tinos General High School.
In 1991, he was admitted (through the nationwide exams) to the Medical School of the University of Athens, ranking 12th out of 220 admitted students, and graduated in July 1997 with a grade of "Very Good."
He completed his mandatory rural medical service at the Tinos Health Center, where he worked from October 1997 until May 1999.
He served his military duty in the Hellenic Army as a Physician for 18 months.
He worked as a salaried Resident Physician in the Internal Medicine Clinic of “Skylitseio” General Hospital of Chios (General Internal Medicine) and subsequently, during the main part of his Cardiology specialization, in the Cardiology Clinic of Athens General Hospital “G. Gennimatas” under the supervision of Professor of Cardiology Apostolos Zacharoulis. During this period, he trained in the Emergency Department, Cardiology Clinic, Infarction Unit, Permanent Pacemaker Implantation Laboratory, Hemodynamics Laboratory, Echocardiography Laboratory, and Treadmill Stress Test Laboratory, performing numerous medical procedures and gaining extensive experience and knowledge.
Since January 2008, he has maintained a fully equipped Cardiology Clinic in Tinos Town, providing modern medical services for the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of all cardiovascular diseases.
He is an active member of the Hellenic Cardiological Society. He has participated in numerous Greek and European cardiology conferences, research programs, and multicenter studies, and has contributed to scientific articles published in reputable Greek and international journals and presented at Greek and international scientific conferences.
He is married to Anna Pirpinia and is the father of three daughters.
